Payton Alexander George, 20, of Phoenix, Arizona, went home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 19, 2019, as a result of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was born on April 19, 1999 in Mesa, Arizona, graduated from Arcadia High School in 2017, and enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2017. Payton served as Master-at-Arms 3rd class Petty Officer for the U.S. Navy and had been recently promoted to E-4. He was stationed at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Chesapeake, VA for the past nine months and was stationed at the Offutt Airforce Base in Bellevue, Nebraska from October 2018 to October 2019. Prior to serving in the U.S. Navy, Payton attended Renovation Church in Arizona and was heavily involved in Arcadia Young Life in Scottsdale. While serving at Offutt Airforce Base, he attended Bellevue Christian Center and was involved in the young adult group. Payton had a deep love for his family, friends, and animals. He could light up a room with his infectious smile and one of his goals in life was to make people laugh. He had the uncanny gift to sense when people were in sad and in need of encouragement and he helped many friends find God and renew their faith in God. Payton was a solider for Christ.
