Obituary of Jose Barrera

In Loving Memory of Jose (Joey) Barrera Jr.

Jose Barrera Jr., affectionately known as Joey but cherished as Chipito by those closest to him, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2024, in Chandler, Arizona, surrounded by the warmth of his loved ones. Born on April 17th, 1983, in Modesto, California, to Jose Barrera Sr. and Elizabeth Caldera, Joey has embarked on a journey to reunite with our cherished grandparents in a realm where love transcends earthly bounds.

Imagining Joey “Chipito” in his newfound abode, one can envision him adorned with his infectious smile, his laughter echoing through celestial streets as he regales his grandparents, Max Sr. and Maria Barrera, with his signature humor. His presence, a beacon of light and warmth, now graces realms beyond our comprehension, free from the shackles of earthly pain.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Ashley Barrera, and their precious children, Jordan, Adreian and Catalynna Barrera. Also, his daughter Jazzlyn Barrera. Also mourning his loss is his sister, Andrea Nuno, and her children, Mario Jr., Adrianna, Antonio, Lorena, and Gabriella; and his sister, Gina Wyrick, and his brother, Marcus Barrera, alongside a host of beloved cousins to name a few, Priscilla, Crystal, Lorraine, Max III, Erika and so many more whom he cherished dearly, and all their children.

Joey’s essence was that of profound compassion, an individual who held genuine affection for all who crossed his path. He possessed an innate ability to bring joy to those around him, his humor serving as a balm to soothe troubled souls. His devotion to his children was unwavering, and his adoration for his nieces and nephews knew no bounds.

Chipito love endures in our hearts, a radiant beacon guiding us through the darkness of grief. Though we mourn his absence, we take solace in the knowledge that he now rests in eternal peace, embraced by the love of our departed grandparents, Max Sr. and Maria Barrera. Joey, your memory shall forever remain etched in our hearts, and as we bid you farewell, know that you are deeply loved and profoundly missed. Your laughter always echoes in our hearts, Chipito.
